Insurance

Regular therapy services may be covered in full or in part by your health insurance or employee benefit plan. Most therapy sessions are 45 or 53 minutes in length, depending on the insurer’s policy, and clinical recommendations. It is ultimately your responsibility to understand your benefit plan and coverage; any quotes of coverage are merely an estimate and NOT a guarantee of coverage or payment.

Many health insurance plans do not cover couple or marriage counseling because they require a clinical diagnosis and treatment plan. If one of the partners in the couple has a clinical diagnosis and treatment plan, sessions with the partner can often be covered as part of the treatment plan for that individual. Please check with your insurance company for more information. See further below for a list of questions to ask your insurance company.

If your plan is not listed above, please call the number on the back of your insurance card to check your out-of-network benefits.

If you decide to continue with out-of-network services, please inform your provider so Full Circle Counseling and Wellness is able to submit an out-of-network claim on your behalf with your insurance provider. We can also provide receipts for services for you to submit to your insurance plan or your HSA/HRA accounts administrator. Each plan varies, so check your coverage carefully by calling the member services phone number on the back of your card and asking your insurance company the following questions:

  • Do I have outpatient mental health insurance benefits?

  • Is Full Circle Counseling and Wellness in-network or out-of-network for my plan?

  • Do I have coverage for billing codes: 90791 (Diagnostic Assessment session), 90847 (conjoint psychotherapy); 90837 (individual psychotherapy)?

  • What is my deductible and has it been met?

  • Do I have a co-pay or co-insurance?

  • How many sessions per year does my health insurance cover?

  • Does my plan cover Telehealth therapy as well as in-person therapy?
